The report reveals a 30% higher peak in total female sea lice pressure compared to recent years, equating to an estimated 31 million more female sea lice across the country than previous averages.

A primary driver of this surge was spiking sea temperatures, which accelerated lice development:

- May 2024: Southern Norway experienced an early temperature spike, triggering heightened sea lice activity in production regions 2 and 3.
- August 2024: These warm waters migrated north, pushing average sea temperatures above 15°C in Northern Norway, further exacerbating sea lice infestations.

These insights offer just a glimpse of the full report, which provides farms, analysts, and regulators with a clearer view of sea lice trends across production areas, along with a more detailed breakdown of regional patterns, treatment capacity, and environmental influences.
